Next lesson, I should be getting out properly on the water – actually riding the board. That’s the plan anyway but I guess it depends how quickly I progress. Note to the wise – unlike snowboarding, it’s not worth taking group lessons with kitesurfing. At least in the early stages, schools only take one kite per instructor – and you need his attention anyway when you’re learning to make sure you don’t take off. Consequently, if you’re in a group, you’ll get very little time actually learning how to control the kite.
With hindsight, the first lesson was a bit a of a waste of time as we were in a group of three and ended up with hardly any time actually using the kite. You’re definitely better off paying the extra money to go single (there’s actually not that much difference in price anyway).
