Ok, so my first efforts at wakeboarding were beyond terrible – possibly not helped with going at high tide but still, no excuses. I was rank. So, it was with a certain amount of hesitation I decided to try again – mostly dreading the very possible reality that I would struggle getting up again.
I also wouldn’t recommend going for more than half an hour when you’re learning. I guess a lot depends on your overall level of fitness but I haven’t been on snow for over a year so am not exactly in the best shape.
Depending on how you’re learning and how much help you’re getting, I think it’s definitely worthwhile checking YouTube for instruction videos. Even if you plan to get proper lessons, having a little background knowledge on what to expect will definitely help when you finally get on the water. There are also multiple good videos showing how stand up on a wakeboard (for me definitely the hardest bit in all this).
Part one of wakeboarding can be seen here.
